A good room should not become the room you avoid.
Some rooms are comfortable in the morning and miserable by mid-afternoon. The sun hits the glass, the room warms up, glare takes over, and the blinds stay closed.
Window film is a thin layer applied to existing glass. Depending on the product, it can be used for solar control, glare reduction, UV filtering, or privacy.
